Your reading, your choice.

1. Reading records on your device

Books you enter, pages and time read, thoughts and quotes, acorns and room decorations, app settings, and guide progress are kept in the app storage on your device. These reading records are not automatically uploaded to an account or to our own server.

If you enable your operating system's backup and restore features, app data may be backed up or restored according to your device and account settings.

2. Cover photos and camera

We request camera permission when you choose to photograph a book cover. Choosing a photo uses the operating system's photo picker; the app does not view photos you did not select. A selected or captured photo is converted on your device to a portrait 2:3 JPEG, up to 640×960 pixels, and stored with the book. It is not uploaded to our own server. The app does not automatically read book titles or authors from photos.

If the app restarts while opening the camera, a temporary on-device copy of the book details you were entering may be kept and removed when you return or resume editing. Removing a cover from the app does not delete the original from your photo library.

3. Ads and Google's consent tool

The app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Depending on consent, banner, interstitial, and app-open ads may appear. To serve and measure ads, Google may process device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location inferred from an IP address.

Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) choice and Google ad consent are separate. The app checks the relevant permission and consent before requesting ads. If the conditions for personalized ads are not met, it requests non-personalized ads or shows no ad. Where required, you can reopen ad privacy choices from Settings. You can also change iOS tracking permission in device settings.

4. Optional usage and crash reports

Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics can be enabled separately in app Settings; both are off by default. If you enable Analytics, it receives fixed screen names and action events such as adding a book or quote, saving a reading session, or buying a room item. Our custom usage events do not contain book titles, quotes, notes, photos, or book IDs.

If you enable Crashlytics, Google may receive error messages, crash details, and device and app diagnostics. The Firebase SDK may process installation and other device-related identifiers to provide these services. You can turn either option off in Settings. When usage sharing is turned off, the app asks Analytics to reset its data; when crash sharing is turned off, it asks Crashlytics to delete unsent reports. Data already transmitted may not be deleted immediately by changing a switch.

5. Reminders and updates

Enabling the daily reading reminder schedules a notification on your device. Push tokens are not currently registered with our own server. The app may make a network request to check for updates.

6. Export and import

If you choose Export reading records, the app creates a temporary JSON file containing books and cover photos, reading records and quotes, app settings, acorns, and room decorations. It is sent only to the app or storage location you select in the share sheet, not automatically uploaded to our own server. Cover photos are included, so check where you share the file. The active timer and ad identifiers are not included.

Importing a file replaces current records after your confirmation and keeps one safety copy of earlier records on this device. This is not automatic cloud backup.

7. Storage and deletion

You can delete a book and its linked reading records and quotes in Edit Book, and edit or delete individual records and quotes. Earlier records may remain in a pre-import safety copy or failed-restore recovery data; remove them in Settings → Delete device safety copy. An older-format storage copy may remain in app storage for update compatibility.

Uninstalling the app removes its local app storage and copies. Exported files may remain where you saved them and must be deleted there separately. Operating-system backups are managed through your device and account settings. For questions about ad or diagnostic data already sent to Google, use the contact address below.

8. This information website

This is a static information website without our own login, contact form, or visitor analytics script. Cloudflare, the hosting provider, may process IP addresses and request information while serving pages.

9. Contact and policy changes

If app features or third-party data handling change, we will update this page and its revision date.
